No 1 October 1996OC BMETS has taken the summer off and is now back with a new look to our newsletter and some changes in our organization. The communication focus will be changing from a periodic newsletter mailing to an Internet web site which will be current and continuously updated. While OC BMETS will continue to offer newsletter mailings to notify our members of upcoming meetings and events the real focus of communication will be centered around the web site. When you visit the OC BMETS web site you will have access to nearly all reference sources of interest to biomedical technicians. The ability to link information resources from around the world and from thousands of sources create a continuously expanding base of knowledge. Our mission to encourage and promote the personal and professional growth and development of our members is monumentally enhanced by utilizing the Internet as a communication source. Our web site has been revised and improved several times during the summer months. It will continue to evolve and be of significant use to you. If you are not already on-line with an Internet service provider you should consider doing so. Access to the Internet is available though America Online, CompuServe, AT&T, Earthlink, IDT and hundreds of other service providers. OC BMETS members will be available at the meeting to answer any questions you may have concerning Internet access. Brea. Our guest speaker will be from Marquette. The presentation will be an overview of 5 levels of networking and an introduction to the newest Marquette patient monitor products. Also, all attendees of our X-Ray Basics class held last April can pick up a certificate of completion at the meeting. Jerry Anderson from Biomedical Consulting Services presented. Mr. Anderson reviewed the final changes to SMDA and reviewed the biomedical technicians involvement in potential litigation's. Matt Farzaneh Membership and Dues Drive Dean Fanara CBET is our 1996/97 treasurer and will be maintaining the membership list. 1996 dues remain at $6.00 and is payable in cash or check made out to Dean Fanara. We will be removing from the mailing list all inactive members who have not paid 1996 dues. This is primarily designed to save mailing expenses. |
