Vol. 7 No 1 January 2000
JANUARY 19, Y2K, Survivors party.
13 OCBMETS meet at Round Table Pizza in Orange to celebrate the successful completion of Y2K preparations. The group was upbeat and informal comraderie was in order. After pizza, we all were treated to a NO Y2K celebration cake. We ended the evening with a drawing for door prizes and nearly everyone went home with a nice gift. The only busines discussed was a committment to have all OCBMETS officers meet for breakfast on the 28th of January. We will plan the upcoming meetings for the rest of the year. All OCBMETS are invited, we would like to here your ideas. Anyone interested in attending needs to RSVP Stan Richards, stanmrich@invisionet.com for directions and time.
JANUARY 28, Officers Meeting
OCBMETS officers met over breakfast and worked on future plans for
OCBMETS. Our dues structure was discussed and agreed that memberships
can be prepaid for the year or paid a prorated portion whenever a member
attends an OCBMETS event. We are going to validate our membership
by requesting a return postcard within one of our future mailings.
The OCBMETS by laws changed to match current association activities.
The office of Vice President was combined with Treasurer. The
term for officers was changed to automatically renewed in the absence of
a petition for election by a candidate. Elections are by voice
vote. A business quorum requires 2/3rds attendance
of the association officers. Each member in good standing has
equal voting rights. Per current association rules, these
changes were agreed upon by vote of the attending officers of the January
28 meeting. A final vote of approval by the membership for
these modifications will be held on the next general meeting April 12.
We also selected future soft meeting dates for other OCBMETS events.
These dates may change but we are committed to bringing you 4 to 6 events
each year. Our next event will be April 12.
