OCBMET History
OCBMETS started with a phone call in Febuary 1994. Stan Richards the manager of Fountain Valley regional medical center took it upon himself to start calling hospital upon hospital in the Orange county area. His persistance paid off. The first meeting was held in a back room of his hospital. Probably only 8 people showed up but it was a start. The Orange County Biomedical Society was born. The first few meetings were to give us direction and define our goals. A board was selected and away we went. Since that time we have seen many changes and some truly great and defining people and companies. From Malcholm Ridgeway to A Ray Daulton, from Hewlett Packard to G.E. We have seen interacted and observed. Looking back at those first few baby steps through the present. It has been a remarkable experience to say the least. We encourage you to come on by and see what we are all about.

OCBMETS MISSION STATEMENT
We are the Orange County BMET Society. Our members are a vital component of the heath care delivery system of Orange County and Southern California. Our mission is to encourage and promote the personal and professional growth and development of our members, to elevate the biomedical engineering profession in the eyes of all health care professionals, and to provide an environment of partnership in health care excellence at our individual hospitals, clinics, and corporate organizations. We will accomplish this with a comprehensive system of coordinated meetings, educational programs, and interaction with other health care professionals.
